Eighteen students from Japanese classes went to Japan and visited our sister schools, Kurume Shinai high school and Shinagawa Girls school. Each student got a lovely homestay family and experienced life in Japan.
This year's Camp for year 9 students was a fabulous opportunity for our girls to experience a range of beach and camp activities while spending time together as a year level.
Students went on a coastal walk, and had time in the water. They were taught about rips, tides and how to keep themselves safe on our West Coast beaches.
Recently, our new library space was blessed by Pa Tipene and officially opened, ready for students to use and enjoy. A special thank you to everyone behind the scenes that contributed to making this possible.
The annual Caring Foundation Mass acknowledges all the work that students do, not only within their own school community but the wider community as well.

The Big Sing is a regional secondary schools choral festival that takes place in 10 centres involving around 8,000 students from over 200+ schools, supported by their families and communities.
Sheilah Winn Auckland Regional Shakespeare Festival
In April, nine year 11 students competed at the inter-school competition, Sheilah Winn Auckland Regional Shakespeare Festival at Avondale College. They performed three scenes, in the five minute student directed section, which were very well received.
It is anticipated that by the end of 2024, construction of the new Performing Arts building will have commenced, with competition due 16 months later. This building will accommodate Art, Dance, Drama and Music, Deans offices and a computer lab.
Vinnies is a youth branch of the Society of St Vincent de Paul. The Vinnies leaders attend regular meetings, events and fundraisers throughout the year with other student leaders from other Catholic secondary schools across Auckland.

Winter Tournament Week sees over 25,000 students, their coaches, managers and parents involved in 67 school sport tournaments! We had two teams away - our First XI Football team and our Premiere Netball team.

Yr 12 students learning about the five main world religions take a trip to the different religious groups to learn more about their beliefs and the similarties they have with Catholicism.
As one of New Zealand’s oldest island sanctuaries, the motu is brimming with wildlife rarely seen on the mainland, you can gain first-hand knowledge of these threatened species and our country’s conservation history. Thousands of people visit the motu each year.
Each year, as part of the Religious Education programme, all students at St Dominic's Catholic College attend a day retreat, organised and led by the Director of Religious Studies and staff from the Religious Education Department.

The Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award is a leading youth development program empowering young New Zealanders aged 14-24 to explore their full potential. There are three levels to the Award (Bronze, Silver & Gold) that participants need to complete activities in.
An opportunity for year 10 students to attend the Hillary Outdoors Education Centre in Tongariro National Park. Students will participate in a 5-day course involving all elements of the outdoors to build confidence, resilience and teamwork.
