We enjoyed many a talented match and congratulate all our Auckland college grade winners.
Representative Netball
Over the term break some of our top netball players have represented Waitākere at respective regional and national tournaments across the country. Huge congratulations to all those who competed at these prestigious events.
Under 14s and Under 16s
Sina Anae-Paila (Under 14-1) and Fleur Stone (Under 16-2) travelled to Taranaki for the North Island Championships in the first week of the holidays. A special congratulations to Sina and her team, for claiming 1st place in the Under 14 competition. Sina is a key member of our Year 10 Green team. Well done Sina!
Under 18s
Jenaya Lata, Anuella Vagana and Mia Swann (Under 18-1) and Sienna Mulcahy (Under 18-2), travelled to Dunedin last week to compete in the Under 18 National Championships.
This was fierce competition all week with the best and strongest from from all around the country fighting it out to make top spots.
Medal Winners
Our Under 18-1 team made it to the grand final and with the game going into extra time, it was a fabulous display of skill and talent from both sides. Unfortunately - as sport goes – there can be only one winner and with a result of 44 v 45, Waitākere took the silver medal.
We are very proud of all our players who represented their region (and of course our College) with such pride. Well done girls!
Rugby League
Congratulations to our College Rugby League team who took 2nd place in the Auckland competition.
In only our second year in this competition, this is an outstanding acheivement and we are so proud of them all! Huge thanks to coaches Elia and Mose, and to Mis Ng Lam for her tireless support and organisation.
