Tiritiri Matangi Island

Our year 13 Biology students travelled by bus and ferry to Tiritiri Matangi Island.  The reason for the trip was the Study of Human Impact & Role of Conservation on the Island and investigate closed versus open sanctuaries.

As one of New Zealand’s oldest island sanctuaries, the motu is brimming with wildlife rarely seen on the mainland, you can gain first-hand knowledge of these threatened species and our country’s conservation history.

Thousands of people visit the motu each year.
