We celebrated reading, books, and library joy with a week of school-wide celebrations.
From popular craft sessions where students created their own mini-books and bookmarks to an action-packed rematch of last year's Staff vs Students Book Week Quiz-where a team of Year 9 students managed to claim the title back from the teachers-it was a wonderful week of book-themed fun!
Other highlights included our Tech-Free Tuesday Book Café, where every student who came to read in the library was treated to a hot chocolate delivered by our fabulous student librarians, and the hugely popular book bedazzling session on Thursday, where some truly unique upgrades were made to students' favourite books.
Throughout the week, we also enjoyed a superbly twisty scavenger hunt crafted by our Year 10 librarians-crosswords, codes, coordinates, hidden messages, and magic paper! The bar has certainly been set very high for next year.
Over 100 Mystery Books were also issued during the week, with students choosing a new read based on just a few keywords and receiving a little treat for trying something new. It has been wonderful to hear students sharing how much they enjoyed books they may never have picked up otherwise.
We finished the week on a high with our annual Book Character Day and an exciting author visit.
