Our St Dominic's Rugby League team proudly competed in the annual Auckland Rugby League (ARL) Gala Day, an event dedicated to providing schools with the opportunity to develop and grow the game of rugby league.
With a very young squad made up of 11 Year 9 students, 2 Year 10 students, 1 Year 11 student, and 2 Year 12 students, our girls showed incredible determination, resilience, and teamwork throughout the day. They continued to improve with every game, supporting one another and representing St Dominic's with pride both on and off the field.
To finish the day, our team secured 3rd place! A great achievement, especially with such a young squad, and is a testament to the effort and commitment the girls have shown this season.
Congratulations to all of our players on a fantastic day. A big thank you to our coaches, Alfonso and Sebastian Fuiava, with the support of Lima Sula, for their dedication and guidance, and to our supporters for cheering the team on. We are also grateful to Waitemata Seagulls Rugby League Club for sponsoring our team jerseys, which the girls proudly wore throughout the tournament. We are incredibly proud of this young team and look forward to watching them continue to grow and achieve even more in the seasons ahead.
