Our College Community

Community is at the heart of Catholic Christian education, not simply as a concept to be taught but as a reality to be lived.

Through education, people must be moved to build community in all areas of life;  they can do it best if they have learned the meaning of community by experiencing it.

Board of Trustees

The St Dominic's Catholic College Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance of the College according to the Charter.  In common with all integrated schools, the Trustees on this Board are made up of some elected members and some appointed members.

The Board of Trustees meets at the College on the last Monday of each month at 6:30pm.  Members of the College community are invited to attend.

The PTFA is a good way of becoming more involved in your daughter’s school.
They meet once a month at 7.00 – 8.00pm at the College.
If you want further information, please contact Tina Allingham, Principal’s Personal Assistant by email tina@stdoms.ac.nz

PTFA

The Parent Teacher Friend Association is a very active body within the College which meets regularly and always welcomes new members.  Meeting dates will be notified in the newsletter and on the College Calendar

The main function of the PTFA is to promote a spirit of community amongst College staff, parents and the Board of Trustees.  It assists in providing better amenities for students and staff by holding fundraising projects throughout the year.

The PTFA also manage second hand uniforms, as they are available. The Second Hand Uniform Shop is open 9am - 10am every Thursday morning in the room beside the library. We are always looking for uniforms to sell on your behalf. Please contact the College office for details.
